The Public Works Department will be collecting brush and limbs in the spring beginning May 10 through May 21, 2010. This will give the residents a chance to clear out dead tree limbs and prune back bushes in an effort to get those yards in tip-top shape.
Guidelines:
· Limbs should not be over 8 inches in diameter and no longer than 8-10 feet in length.
· Place brush and limbs at the curb with the cut sections facing in the same direction and facing the street.
· Small twigs/sticks should be bundled with twine and be no longer than 8 inches in diameter. They can also be placed in an empty garbage can or box.
Do not use plastic bags or lawn bags.
· Pine/fir trees, with branches and needles still intact, may be placed at the curb. No loose pine needles please.
· Do not include any type of yard waste (grass clippings, leaves, etc) .
This program is strictly for the removal of brush and limbs. Stumps, root balls, railroad ties, wood fencing, etc. are not going to be accepted because they cannot be chipped through our equipment. Materials not meeting these guidelines will be left at the curb.
If you would like a load of wood chippings delivered to your home, please call us at 561-7228 to be put on the “Wood Chip List.” A full dump truck load is equivalent to 6-8
cubic yards. We cannot deliver any less than a full load. These deliveries will be made during the two week time period of this program. We ask that you keep in mind that this
material is very raw and is not recommended to be used near your trees, bushes or flower beds.
