2010 Street Program. This year’s budget will be appropriated for the completion of the Kenwood Road Reconstruction Project. Beginning in March, 2010, the contractor will return to begin construction on Phase 2 which includes the section of street between Shawnee Run Road south to Kenwood Hills Drive. This $4 million project was begun in October, 2009 and is expected to be completed in September, 2010. Funding for the project will come from the city’s Street Repair Fund; revenue is generated from motor vehicle license fees and state levied gasoline taxes. The State of Ohio, through the Ohio Public Works Commission, is funding 50% of the construction utilizing the State Capital Improvement Project Fund. The city is also expecting to borrow over $1 million in municipal notes to finalize the capital financing.
