Sign Permits

A sign permit is required to meet the regulations outlined in the Madeira Zoning Code. Two types of signs are permitted, temporary and permanent. A Temporary Sign Application or Permanent Sign Application must be submitted and approved prior to the installation of the sign. Permanent signs are reviewed by the Architectural Review Officer, Zoning Administrator, and Commercial Building Inspector.

Temporary signs are reviewed by the City Manager or Assistant to the City Manager. If the sign does not meet zoning requirements, a variance must be requested.  All variances require a separate application and review by the Board of Zoning Appeals.

For businesses that would like to have a A-frame/Sandwich Board sign, an Application is required to be submitted to the City.
